Edwin Clark Adamant That The Southeast Must Produce The Next President.

When Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim paid him a visit on Friday, December 17, 2021, the elderly statesman said this.

Anyim, who just declared his candidacy for president in 2023, was asked by Clark to work hard with other leaders across the country to build consensus for equity and unity in Nigeria.

“The president of Nigeria in 2023 must go to the southern part of Nigeria, and indeed to the South-East zone,” he said.

“I encourage you and others to keep pushing and assuring more Nigerians to share that goal,” stated the 94-year-old politician.

Anyim responded that he wanted to run for president because he understood Nigeria’s problems and believed he had the ability to solve them.

Clerk was also thanked by Anyim, who said he would treasure his advice for the rest of his life.

“I thank God that Chief Edwin Clark will be 95 years old shortly, and yet he is gifted with a phenomenal memory, a lucid and curious mind, a benevolent heart, and an unbounded goodwill for all men,” he remarked. I praise God for your good health and will always value your advice.

“I will devote myself to advancing the ideal of equality in Nigeria, the unity of our nation, and the peace and prosperity of all citizens with all my heart and soul.”

Following the impeachment of Chuba Okadigbo, Anyim was chosen President of the Nigerian Senate by his colleagues in 2000.
