Festus Keyamo, the spokesman for the Presidential Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has criticized Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for his recent statement he made during a political event.
Meanwhile, it is important to know that Atiku has openly stated that North does not need a Yoruba or Igbo president.
The statement was released while speaking with the Arewa Joint Committee that took place on Saturday in Kaduna State.
Atiku claimed that Northerners should vote for him because he is a Pan- Nigerian with northern background who has established bridges across the country.
He had said: ” What the average Northerner needs is somebody who’ s from the north and also understands that part of the country and has been able to build bridges across the country.
” This is what the Northerner needs, it doesn’ t need a Yoruba or Igbo candidate, I stand before you as a Pan- Nigerian of northern origin. ”
Meanwhile, Keyamo responded to the statement on his Twitter page in which he referred to the comment as ” the height of desperation and daredevilry” on the part of the PDP.
It was horrifying, disgusting, and foolish on the part of the former vice president to use ethnicity as a campaign, according to the Minister of State for Labour and Employment.
