PDP CRISIS: TROUBLE In Wike’s Camp As Ortom Denies Plotting Ayu’s Sack

There is a possibility that things are not going well in the camp of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers, who has been demanding that the National Chairman of the People’ s Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, resign or be removed from his position.

According to the latest report, Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, a prominent member of Wike’ s camp has denied supporting calls for Ayu’ s dismissal.

The Governor of Benue State was responding to allegations made against him by the Jemgbagh Development Association that he was involved in the attempts to remove his fellow Benue man, Iyorchia Ayu from his position.

However, in a statement released on Monday by Ortom’ s Chief Press Secretary, Nathaniel Ikyur, Ortom denied the allegation that he was in support of the idea of removing Ayu from office.

Ortom claimed that he can’ t support the removal of someone he assisted in appointing to office.

Ortom expressed confidence that Ayu will successfully guide the party to victory in the upcoming 2023 general election.

According to Ortom, he and other notable individuals of Benue citizens pushed very hard to ensure that Ayu would be elected as ” the national chairman of our great party even against all odds. ”

Ortom said, ” Governor Ortom vouched for the integrity and capacity of Dr. Iyorchia Ayu to lead and rebuild the PDP to victory and rescue Nigeria from the misrule of the APC maladministration. That is why Ayu was returned unopposed by the northern caucus of the party and got elected as the national chairman of the PDP at the party’ s convention.
