Former Senator and Governorship aspirant of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, Shehu Sani, says the decision of the Lagos State government to auction 134 forfeited and abandoned vehicles “is too harsh”.

Newsbreak.ng recalls that emotions ran high last Thursday as abandoned and forfeited vehicles were auctioned by the Lagos State Government at the Task Force Yard, Ikeja.

Some of those who attended the public sale included drivers whose vehicles were seized for disobeying traffic laws.

The event was filled with different dramas from bidders and businessmen who came solely for business purposes.

Some persons struck deals with the highest bidders who bought their vehicles and made payments immediately.

Reacting to the development, Sani said the Lagos government should have simply fined law offenders.

“Auctioning the vehicles of those who violated traffic laws is too harsh. Why not fine them,” Sani wrote on his verified Twitter handle on Sunday.
