The results of candidates who sat for the 2021 West African Senior School Certificate Examination in Nigeria were released by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) on Monday.
During a press conference, Mr Patrick Areghan, Head of the Council’s Nigeria National Office, made the announcement.
Candidates should now check their results using the checker PIN on their smart identity cards used for the examination on WAEC’s website.
“Candidates can now check their results on the WAEC Direct Online website,” he stated.
Areghan also revealed that 65.24 percent of candidates received credit or above in a minimum of five (5) disciplines, including English Language and Mathematics, indicating a significant 16.46 percent gain in performance in this area.
He went on to say that the results of 170,146 students, or 10.9 percent of the total number of candidates who took the exam, are being withheld due to numerous reports of exam misconduct.
The Head of National Office, WAEC, stated that candidates can check their results online on the council’s website with immediate effect following the announcement of the 2021 WAEC May/June result data.
Candidates who took part in the May/June WASSCE of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) in 2021 can now get their results.

Using the WAECDIRECT Portal, you can check your WAEC results for 2021.
You do not need to purchase a scratch card to check your WAEC result for 2021 or 2022.
On the candidate’s smart identity card used during the examination, they contained the result checker pin and serial number needed by candidates to check results online.
However, here’s how to check your WAEC Exam Result:
- Go to https://www.waecdirect.org to check your WAEC 2021/2022 results.
- In the required column, type in your WAEC Examination Number.
- Also, choose your exam year, which is 2021.
- Choose an examination type. That is a RESULT FOR A SCHOOL CANDIDATE.
- Enter the serial number of the card.
- Input the card PIN as well.
- Finally, press the “Submit” button to see your WAEC results for 2021.

Where can I buy an e-PIN?
An Electronic PIN may be purchased at the National office of WAEC and at any of its Zonal and Branch Offices across Nigeria. From time to time it may become available at any other outlets so designated by WAEC. The reviewed price for the e-PIN is now N1,500.
How many times can I check my results?

Please be informed that examination numbers are reused every year and the only unique difference is the examination year. Please change the exam year to the year you took your exam. However, you will have to purchase a new WAEC result checker e-PIN Voucher to do this. Thank you.
